Tie Me To the Mast

One part peasant, one part queen
with her dirty blond hair and her tight blue jeans.
the first time I saw her walking past.
I said “tie me to the mast.”

Her siren song sounded sweet
but I could sense the rocks beneath
I need someone to hold me fst.
better tie me to the mast.

Tie me to the mast, tie me to the mast, safe and sound.
tie me to the mast
before I drown.

I could not crack her mystery
was she looking at or right through me.
some kind of spell I know got cast.
tie me to the mast.

Somewhere across the great blue sea
My true home was calling me
the only way I could get past.
better tie me to the mast.

Tie me to the mast, tie me to the mast
night and day
tie me to the mast
no matter what I say.

I could have closed my ears and eyes
But being numb’s not being wise.
Let me enjoy this while it lasts
tie me to the mast.

when I reached the ocean, her song grew still.
I could not have made it on my will.
love’s mystery is wide and vast.
tie me to the mast. tie me to the mast.
