Here are some other good web pages, some of which have
nothing to do with music or stories.
Camp
Hope A weekend camp for kids who've had someone close
to them die. It's a wonderful experience, fun and meaningful,
that happens twice a year. I tell stories there, but far
more important is the great opportunity for kids to do grief
work in a supportive and playful environment.
www.airdefenders.org
is a wonderful web site about open burning or trash, which
is environmentally very dangerous. I helped to develop some
of the material, which includes a video and songs, with
a special lesson devoted to songwriting. The site is fun
for kids, too.
Bill
Harley. Bill is one of my favorite family entertainers
in the country. Storyteller, singer, author, his work is
worth discovering.
Tom
Pease is my dear friend, collaborator and objectively
of course, one of the finest performers for children and
families that I have ever mentioned. Check out his award-winning
recordings, too.
CMN.
CMN is the Children's Music Network, a great organization
of parents, teachers, kids and musicians (and others) who
work with kids. CMN promotes values like diversity, non-violence
and environmental respect and responsibility. There is a
Midwest chapter, and there is a national gathering annually,
and usually a Midwestern gathering, too. It's a good organization
to join if you have interest in quality music for kids..
Terry
Young has a fine website for kids and families interested
in music and values.
Shel
Silverstein songs. Not just for kids, and some not for
kids at all. But what a great writer.
Randy's
Recording is where I've recorded most of my albums.
Randy is a great engineer, a fine producer and a deep thinker.
