Stuart Stotts with guitar: Keynote Speaker Stuart Stotts is a keynote speaker, author, storyteller, songwriter, and educational troubadour. Since 1986 he has presented for schools, conferences, community events, and educational trainings throughout the United States, and beyond. He is a Kennedy Center Teaching Artist, and the author of four books and over ten recordings. Stuart is frequently a featured presenter at Early Childhood conferences. He leads workshops on music, literacy, and arts integration, focusing on making connections to brain-based research and the importance of community and relationships in student learning. Stuart’s travels have taken him to Abu Dhabi, England, Greece, Central America, and hundreds of places in between, like Fond du Lac and Green Bay.

Stuart has worked extensively as an artist-in-residence in elementary, middle, and high schools. He has released several award-winning recordings, and is also the author of We Shall Overcome: A Song That Changed the World, The Bookcase Ghost: A Collection of Wisconsin Ghost Stories, Books in a Box: Lutie Stearns and the Traveling Libraries of Wisconsin and Curly Lambeau: Building the Green Bay Packers the story of the man behind the Green Bay Packers, especially in their early years. Stuart has recently finished another Badger Biography about Lucius Fairchild, which is due out in 2011, and is working to complete a book about Father Groppi, Civil Rights Activist.

Stuart is an avid recumbent bicycle rider. He is a member of the Kickapoo Woods Coop, and he owns and manages 45 acres of sustainable forest near the Kickapoo Reserve. He’s married to Heather Terrill, the love of his life, and has three daughters, Cerisa, Calli, and Celeste, and one son, Simon. They all live most of the time in an old Victorian house in DeForest,Wi.
